A$AP Rocky Is Completing A$AP Yams’ Album

Clearly, one of A$AP Rocky's biggest influences was A$AP Yams. The A$AP Mob member passed back in January, but Pretty Flacko plans to carry the torch for his late friend.

During a recent interview with Charlie Sloth on BBC Radio, Rocky revealed, now that his album roll out is complete, he will be working diligently to put out a posthumous A$AP Yams LP that they'd been working on before his untimely death. "Yams started an album before he passed and he left all his notebooks and blueprints," said Rock. "I'm just picking up where he left off. Me and him were going to do the album together. He was working on a crazy album. I'm letting people know, if I'm doing something good, the next thing I do will have to be great."

Yams' death shook the entire hip-hop community. He was found unconscious by his roommate early Sunday (Jan. 18) morning and transported to Brookyln’s Woodhull Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead. His death was later ruled by medical examiners to have been caused by accidental acute mixed drug intoxication including opiates and benzodiazepine. The Mob took the passing especially hard with Rocky saying Yams' death eats at him in the days following the shocking news. Yams, born Steven Rodriguez served as the executive producer on Rocky's recent album release, At.Long.Last.A$AP.
