While this week marked the five-year anniversary of his breakout mixtape, Kush & Orange Juice, the interceding years have seen Wiz Khalifa transform into a veritable hit maker, the kind of artist whose anthems bleed through the traditional album cycle and stick in playlists and in the speakers at every freshman mixer house party. To wit, his contribution to the Furious 7 soundtrack, the Charlie Puth-featuring "See You Again," has officially unseated "Uptown Funk!" as the biggest song in the country, as per Billboard. The latter song, which is a collaboration between Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars, had enjoyed a 14-week reign, tied for the second-longest streak in the history of the Hot 100 chart.

There may be more to the song than just selling fast cars. As was previously reported, a source in the Khalifa camp claims that several of the lines in the song are dedicated to Wiz's ex-wife, Amber Rose. "See You Again" has also broken two records at Spotify: This Monday (April 13), the song was streamed 4.2 million times, setting the single-day mark in the process. Previously, its 21.9 million from April 6 through April 12 made for the biggest week in the streaming platform's history.

Wiz Khalifa also appeared on The Ellen Show on this afternoon with Charlie Puth to perform their Furious 7 collaboration “See You Again.” Watch Khalifa’s conversation with MTV News, where he breaks down making “See You Again” and his performance below.
