Tracee Ellis Ross Wants Kanye West To Appear on ‘Black-ish’

At a recent Emmy panel, Tracee Ellis Ross, star of ABC's Black-ish, revealed that she has some very specific plans involving a very high-profile guest star: Kanye West. Ross, who plays Dr. Rainbow Johnson, an anesthesiologist married to Anthony Anderson's Andre Johnson, not only believes the rapper would be a good fit on the show--she even has a plotline mapped out. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ross floated the following idea: “I think he should be a doctor working with my character, Rainbow,” she said. “[Andre] gets worried Rainbow is going to have an affair with [Kanye], but Rainbow has no interest.”

Though it might seem like a stretch to imagine one of the music world's biggest stars appearing in a sitcom hospital, West has been surprisingly game for bit parts in film. In 2013, he had a small role in the Anchorman sequel alongside Will Ferrell and Steve Carell; five years prior, he made a cameo as himself in the Adam Sandler vehicle The Love Guru. But it might be had to nail down his schedule--West is currently ramping up for the release of his seventh solo album, So Help Me God, which is expected out in the coming weeks. The album has been teased by two singles, each featuring former Beatle Paul McCartney.
