In keeping with the trend of surprise album releases, Trey Songz took to Soundcloud today (April 14) to drop off an unannounced EP, Intermission. The six-track set features the singer's requisite slow burns, as well as more kinetic cuts like "Don't Play." Requests by XXL to the Department of Health for statistics on Trey Songz-related births were not immediately returned, but January is sure to be a crowded time at your local hospital. Songz has also announced that he would be dropping his new album, Trigga Reloaded, on June 23. His last record, Trigga, was released last year to moderate critical success; it featured contributions from Ty Dolla $ign, Nicki Minaj and Justin Bieber, among others.

Songz first rose to fame approximately 10 years ago. His notoriety, sparked by "Open the Closet," a song made in response to R. Kelly's never-ending "Trapped in the Closet" series. From there, demand for the Virginia singer has only grown, to the point where he's now one of the most sought-after artists for both his contributions to other artists' singles and for his own solo work. He has been nominated for three Grammy awards, most recently in 2013, when his "Heart Attack" was up for Best R&B song.

To go along with the surprise EP, Trigga Trey released a brand new documentary titled Trigga Reloaded: The Intermission . He wrote, "a lot has happened in a year and after most recently completing two mega tours from the US to Europe, I felt re-energized by the love and wanted to share this glimpse of the journey while giving my fans some new music with "Intermission". The love I've received is beyond belief, I've attempted to reciprocate it by sharing this vulnerable yet genuine piece." Watch it below
