Kanye West Gets Pranked by Amy Schumer, Performs With fan at Time 100 Gala

Though what appeared to be a surreptitious snapshot of Kanye West's setlist had the Internet buzzing yesterday (April 21), it turned out to be a false alarm. The Chicago rapper's opening number wasn't, as some had suggested, a new song titled "James Brown," but rather a rendition of the funk legend's "It's a Man's Man's Man's World." After that, it was a quick run through some of his biggest hits--"All Day," "New Slaves," "Black Skinhead," "Touch the Sky," "Runaway" and "Gold Digger" all got played--before ceding the stage. Attendees reported that the crowd—especially superfan Martin Christopher Torres—clamored for "Wolves," the introductory track from West's forthcoming seventh album. "Let's do 'Wolves" proceeded to take over Twitter and Martin's Instagram (ChrisDont) captured the whole moment. Kanye graces the cover of this week's Time, as part of the publication's annual list of the world's 100 most influential people. It's shaping up to be a banner year for the outspoken rapper, who is prepping the release of a new record, So Help Me God. Preceded by singles "All Day" and "Only One," the album is his first since 2013's divisive Yeezus. In addition to Paul McCartney, who worked on each of the aforementioned singles, the album is expected to feature Vic Mensa and Sia, among other collaborators. This year also saw the unveiling of Kanye's Adidas fashion line, which has been met with positive reviews from many fashion critics.
