Today, April 2, is the 35th birthday of Atlanta rapper Yung Joc!

After years in the regional rap game, the College Park rapper broke through with his 2006 hit single, "It's Goin' Down" off his 2006 debut album, New Joc City under Baby Boy South Entertainment. "It's Goin' Down" peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100. His follow -up single was also successful; the timelessly catchy "I Know U See It" peaked at No. 17 on the Hot 100. Helmed by these two singles, New Joc City premiered at number 3 on the Billboard 200 and was eventually certified gold by RIAA.

Yung Joc also had his share of memorable features. In 2007, he was featured on T-Pain's smash hit "Buy U a Drank (Shawty Snappin')," which topped the Billboard Hot 100 and was certified triple-platinum. The year 2008 saw Yung Joc striking gold again, as he rapped on David Banner's "Get Like Me," which made it to No. 16 on the Hot 100.

In 2009, after legal disputes with Bad Boy, Joc formed his own label, Swagg Team Entertainment. Artist's on Joc's Swagg Team included Hotsylz, the GS Boyz and Soufside. Hotstylz is best known for their 2008 song "Lookin' Boy," which was remixed by multiple artists, including Bow Wow and R. Kelly.

To date, Joc has released two albums, New Joc City and Hustlenomics. The 34-year-old MC has been working with T-Pain on his third album and recently dabbled in the reality tv realm, appearing on Love and Hip-Hop Atlanta.

Happy Birthday, Yung Joc!
