Happy Birthday, Ty Dolla Sign!

Today, April 13, is the 33rd birthday of Tyrone Griffin, better known to the hip-hop world as Los Angeles-bred rapper Ty Dolla $ign.

Currently signed to Wiz Khalifa's Taylor Gang Records and Atlantic Records, Ty began his career in music as a multi-instrumentalist. After penning hit singles for other Cali area MCs like YG, Ty began to release his own music in 2011. Known for his R&B, sing-song style of rap, Ty's 2012 EP, Beach House EP, boasted features from the likes of Wiz Khalifa, Trey Songz and French Montana, and the single "Or Nah" off the EP shot Ty into the mainstream. The song peaked at No. 48 on the Billboard Hot 100.

After touring with Wiz and climbing the charts, Taylor Gang's newest star landed a spot on the 2014 XXL Freshman roster.

Ty is known for his smooth melodic sound and has collaborated on mixtapes with Wiz, including Talk About It in the Morning, jumped on other records for Chris Brown and Tyga and dropped his debut album, Free TC, in 2015. Ty's most recent album is the long-awaited Beach House 3, which dropped in 2017.

This year, he'll be on the road for G-Eazy's The Endless Summer tour, along with YBN Nahmir, Lil Uzi Vert, P-Lo and Murda Beatz. Ty Dolla $ign also just appeared in the video for his latest collab with Post Malone, "Psycho."
