Nelly just performed a concert in northern Iraq for a social welfare nonprofit called the Rwanga Foundation. The Country Grammar artist performed at Iraqi Kurdistan for a charity concert in the city of Erbil. Rwanga Foundation said that Nelly is “the first American artist to perform in the city’s 8,000-year-old history.” That's a pretty cool accomplishment for the St. Louis rapper. The purpose of the concert was to raise money for the peshmerga, the Kurdish fighting force that's been fighting ISIS. Ticket sales to the performance were donated to “those impacted by the recent conflict in the area,” Rwanga said. However, there's also a rumor that Nelly got paid a ton of money to perform at the fundraiser. The concert—which also included a motocross show and soccer show—drew 15,000 people.

The veteran MC recently gave some advice to Iggy Azalea about dealing with haters. Nelly called Iggy a "Great artist" and said that she should feel accomplished that artists like Eminem are taking shots at her. Nelly opened up about his past relationship with R&B starlet Ashanti and why he kept things so private last December. Ashanti revealed today on The Meredith Vieira Show that she felt betrayed by her former boyfriend. Watch that here.
