Despite being engaged in a battle with one of the world's biggest rappers, business doesn't stop for Birdman and Cash Money records. According to reports from TMZ, Birdman is close to signing 21-year-old singer Kayla Brianna Smith to join Birdman's Rich Gang imprint. Smith is the daughter of former NBA player and current Inside The NBA co-host Kenny Smith. TMZ says that the two parties have been negotiating for the past few months and are close to inking a deal. Along with being a singer, Kayla Brianna will also star in the upcoming TBS reality TV show, Meet The Smiths, which will showcase the Smith family. Smith already has a song with Meek Mill (as seen above) and her video for "Honest" premiered on MTV Jams last week.

While Birdman gets ready to add Smith to the Rich Gang lineup, Rich Homie Quan has decided to take a break from the crew. During an interview with Hot 107.9, RHQ said he was ready to focus on his solo career and take a step back from working with Birdman and Young Thug. "It’s time for Atlanta and the world to know that Quan has improved,” said RHQ. “And this new sound here, I feel as if I can’t lose. I feel as if I have me a Grammy bro, that’s on everything.”
