Kanye West Says His New Music is Inspired By Drake

Kanye West's European media tour continues. This time, Ye sat down with Paris' Clique TV for an extensive interview that touched mostly on Kanye's fashion inspirations and his role in the fashion world. Yeezy also talked about race relations, social status and being a celebrity. Unfortunately, the host didn't ask much about music or So Help Me God but Yeezus did sneak in some comments about Drake and competition in hip-hop. At the end, A.P.C. founder Jean Touitou joins Ye totalk about Kanye's fashion choices. Check out some of the highlights below:

On Drake and his competition:

"I've grown, I've gone to the gym like Michael Jordan when he was winning his championships, he was going to the gym to get stronger to go up against the Pistons and teams like that. I'm going against major hitmakers. I look at Drake as an amazing sparring partner. Someone who is like, 'C'mon man, get back up!' I was sittin there getting fat, I knocked everyone out. Then this guy hits the gym and comes back with 14 hits, same as Paul McCartney. So then I go, 'Okay, let me go to the studio. Let me get these lyrics.' That's where these records are coming from."

On contributing to society:

"I just want to be in a position to be able to contribute as much as possible. I don't have any financial aspirations or mogul aspirations. I have people aspirations. I want people to hear as much as beautiful music; see as much beautiful art possible; wear as many beautiful clothes as possible; experience as much beautiful films and have as much free time to spend with their families."

On the paparazzi and the media:

"I'm very happy to be famous. It's a tool that you can use to message as you want. It's taking the power into your own hands...I don't care what anyone in fashion has to say abot what I want to do. I'm here in fashion to learn sensibility. I want to create something comparable to what Walt Disney did and mix it with what Henry Ford and mix it with what Harry Hughes did and mix it with what David Stern did."
