New York's Julian Stephen is deciding to keep things brief. In his new video for "Get It Together," he distills his entire worldview down to 90 seconds, enough for a quick viewing while on the subway or ducking under awnings between snow flurries. The young rapper darts through the aquarium, gesturing at the rare fish. He juxtaposes his "broke nigga dream" with the excess of rap stardom; he sees himself on the precipice. Though only one verse, "Get It Together" touches on Stephen's anxieties about his place in the genre. The song is off of his upcoming debut project, which is still without a name or release date.

Stephen is a Queens native who says he is often compared to successful rappers like Kanye West, J. Cole, Drake and Lil Wayne. His goals are to work with those artists, as well as less conventional hip-hop collaborators such as Emma Stone and Taylor Swift.
