"My favorite album that I ever recorded, it would probably be Purple Haze," Cam'ron says, still dripping sweat from his performance. Revolt recently caught up with the legendary Harlem rapper after a show in Chicago--Cam remember recording his 2004 classic, moving from state to state in the process. Now, he confirms that its long-awaited sequel, Purple Haze 2, will be out in December.  Late last year, Cam told Miss Info that this album would be his last.

The first Purple Haze was released in 2004 to considerable critical acclaim. His fourth solo album, it's often cited as Killa's creative peak, his obsession with the English language blown up into Cristal-drenched Technicolor. Purple Haze is the natural conclusion of the experiments in syllable bending that started on Confessions Of Fire: "So I parked in a towaway zone/ Chrome/ I don't care, that car a throwawy, homes." Cam's last solo full-length was 2009's Crime Pays; last year, he released five different First Of The Month EPs. His A-Trak-curated, Just Blaze-produced single, "Dipshits," can be pointed to as the warning shot for this year's Dipset reunion.

There are four dates left on the first leg of that reunion tour; a summer swing across the West coast is expected to be announced soon.

March 13: New Haven, CT – Toad’s Place
