Z-Ro Says There’s No Unity in the Houston Rap Scene
But he's also been somewhat of an enigma, particularly outside of his hometown. Houston hip-hop heads wax poetic about his hook mastery, his emotional honesty, his prodigious output and his history with DJ Screw. But to the world outside of his city he's less well-known, whether due to his largely underground or his general aversion to press or promo runs.
But with Z-Ro’s new album Melting The Crown available in stores now, XXL had the chance to catch up with Ro and discuss his latest project. Z-Ro also speaks candidly about his history with the legendary South Park Coalition and Screwed Up Click, the status of his collaboration album with Slim Thug, the current state of the Houston rap scene and much more. —Justin Ivey
