Young Thug is one of the leaders of the new school but we has no plans of appearing on new tracks for the next twenty years. During an interview with GQ titled, "Young Thug: What Drugs Sound Like," Thugga explained that he has no interest in rapping into his elder years. The Cash Money member cited Jay Z in his argument and claimed that rappers in their 30's and 40's don't connect to the youth through their music:

Why not rap forever?
I don't want to be 50 years old and rapping, man. I'm pretty sure nobody wants to do that. I'm pretty sure Jay Z don't wanna rap right now.

Why is it such a young man's game?
If you're 30, 40 years old, you're not getting listened to by minors. Like, Jay Z has some of the sickest lyrics ever, but I would never buy his CD, just because of my age and because of his age. By the time I turn that old, I ain't gonna be doing what he's doing.

Guess we won't be getting a Young Thug and Hova collaboration anytime soon.

While he won't be working with any older rappers anytime soon (except for Birdman), Thug has been putting out a ton of music with his contemporaries lately. In the past month, Thug has dropped songs with Metro Boomin, Travi$ Scott, Gucci Mane, Kid Ink and Rich Homie Quan. He also announced that he will be joining Scott on tour this spring. At this rate, Thug is setting himself up for an early retirement.
