Warren G and Kenny G performed a smooth rendition of the former's track "Regulate" during last night's episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! (Feb. 23). Warren kept it funky as he spits his verses while Kenny delivered sultry sounds on the soprano sax. With the help of the late Nate Dogg, whose vocals played over the track, the two were able to recreate the 1994 classic. The pair's performance on Kimmel! wrapped up Jimmy's month-long "Mash-Up Mondays" series.

"Regulate" relies on a sample of Michael McDonal's contemporary "I Keep Forgettin' (Every Time You're Near)."It was a record that I always loved, from being a kid and my parents playing it when they had their company of friends over," Warren G told Rolling Stone while discussing the song. "I had the sample and was, like, 'It would be so different to do a hip-hop song over this."

The Cali MC will be hitting the road next month for his The G-Funk Experience week-long tour. Kicking off at the Harbour Event Centre in Vancouver on Mar. 7, the tour will head through the West Coast, stopping in Washington, Oregon and California.

He spoke to us Last December on about which artists today are carrying on his legacy and the importance of a person like Nate Dogg to the entire G Funk era.

"He was very important," said Warren. "I mean, that was the backbone of what I do. Whenever I did records, we were like Batman and Robin. It's like, he understands my perception, and I understand the way he writes and sings. So when the combination comes together, it's perfect, and it always makes sense and it's always a banger, a hit record. We wanted to make people feel good and understand at the same time what we talkin' 'bout."
