Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard has bars. Not Kobe Bryant bars. Real bars. The high-flying hoop star recently made a stop by Sway In The Morning to show off his rhyme skills and didn't disappoint spitting a freestyle that had Sway hailing him the hottest rapper in the NBA. While that is not exactly a huge compliment, the conversation really isn't even close. At this point we should be comparing Lillard to rappers with deals. It's that serious.

Lillard has been trying to put people on to his rap skills for a while now. Back in 2013, the former NBA Rookie of the Year put his bars on front street challenging rappers with a Instagram competition he dubbed 4 Bar Fridays. Following that NBA season he was captured on video in a freestyle battle in Hawaii. If there was any doubt that DL loves rap just as much as hoop, the baller spit a freestyle to debut his new signature sneaker with adidas.

XXL spoke with Lillard back in October 2013 and he revealed how he grew up loving hip-hop in the Bay Area. "I started rapping in high school, like 9th grade, but it was like a hobby, something I enjoyed because I like wordplay and putting metaphors together. I just love spittin’," he said. Judging from this video, he might have a second calling.
