Statik Selektah and KXNG CROOKED (formerly known as Crooked I) are joining forces for a new LP. The New York DJ/producer and the Long Beach MC recently made the announcement on ShowOff Radio last night. Taking to the airwaves, the new duo announced the project will be titled Statik KXNG. Selektah says the idea came from the PRyme album put together by Royce Da 5'9" and DJ Premier. "We got something we got to announce," said Selektah. "Me and CROOKED have been talking for a while, and I was like, 'You know what, we should just do a project. Why not?"

The Cali rapper agreed. "It makes good sense," he said. "To be honest, hip-hop is going in a great direction. We just got to make our contribution. I'm excited for this project. It's gonna be something dope."

The LP will be dropping on Penalty Entertainment, the label who brought you Capone-N-Noreaga's debut, The War Report. Stat and CROOK previously collabed on the track "Down Like This" which also featured Sheek Louch and Pharaohe Monch off Statik's most recent LP, What Goes Around. The upcoming project should make for an interesting mix boom bap and bars. "[It's] East meets West, two people who are on top of their game at what they are doing," said the Shady MC about the album. "We are putting everything down to bring a dope project to the people. We wont disappoint."
