Rowdy Rebel's April 2014 robbery charge in Brooklyn was dismissed on Jan 28. Rebel's defense attorney Javier A. Solano confirms that his client's robbery charge was outright dismissed and wasn't a legal technicality that's part of a procedural step like Bobby Shmurda's June 2014 Brooklyn gun possession charge.

"Rowdy got a case dismissed last week on Jan. 28," Mr. Solano exclusively told XXL. "I got a case dismissed where he was being charged with robbery in April 2014, which was another BS charge. It wasn’t dropped out of a technicality it was outright dismissed."

Rowdy, real name Chad Marshall, is currently being held at Manhattan Detention Complex, also known as The Tombs. Rebel, who is also signed to Epic Records alongside Shmurda, pled not guilty in court on Jan. 29 to multiple counts of conspiracy, attempted murder, attempted assault, reckless endangerment and criminal possession of a weapon charges plus three additional gun charges related to his arrest at Quad Studios in December 2014. His bail is $2 million, something his attorney stated was "excessive." Solano expressed that Rowdy could file bail paperwork; however, their next step is to go to appeals court to reduce the bail.

"The government provided discovery material, which they claim they are going to use for their case against Rowdy," said the attorney from New York. "I received that discovery material and on the 29th I renewed my bail application to reduce the bail from $2 million based on the discovery material, because the discovery material didn't show anything. I was trying to argue to the court that their case was extremely weak and bail at $2 million was excessive, but that fell on deaf ears. Our only alternative at this point is to go to appellate court to review whether or not the court used discretion with setting the bail at $2 million."

The next court date for the crew has been set for April 22. XXL will keep you posted as news progresses. —Emmanuel C.M.
