‘Power’ Creator Courtney Kemp Agboh Brushes Off ‘Empire’ Comparisons
The premiere season trailed Ghost, played by Omari Hardwick, as he navigated through marriage troubles with his wife, Tasha, Naturi Naughton's character, all the while balancing an affair with his mistress Angela, actress Lela Loren, who turns out to be a Fed. The show chronicled the rise and fall of his nightclub, Truth, an investment derived from the drug money gained from the narcotics empire Ghost built with his best friend Tommy, actor Joseph Sikora. 50 Cent took on the by-now-familiar role of the villain, Kenan. The rapper's character was in jail for the majority of his role in the season but that didn't stop him from wreaking havoc on the streets in efforts to bring forth Ghost's downfall. The fact that Kenan taught Hardwick's character the ropes of the dope game and took care of 50's son Shawn while he finished up the remainder of his sentence made things all the more juicer.
