The good folks at Roc Nation had the first annual Roc City Classic last night (Feb. 12) featuring a performance by Kanye West and hosted by 2014 NBA MVP Kevin Durant of the Oklahoma City Thunder. Last month, the New York Post ran a story that the 45-minute concert is going “to paralyze Flatiron District” during The NBA All-Star Weekend. Parks watchdog Geoffrey Croft said to Page Six that the city did not listen to the concerns of locals.

“It is very disappointing that the community is being ignored,” Croft said. “Neighborhoods should have a say in how their public spaces are used. This is clearly not an appropriate location for this event.”

However, the event still went down nearby Hov’s sports bar and lounge The 40-40 Club on 25th Street and Broadway. To say it was cold is an understatement. It was freezing. However, hundred of fans stood—and waited for a long time, some fans said they waited for six hours so they can be in the front—to see Yeezy take the stage. Between 23rd and 26th street, everything was surrounded by barricades and cops who only knew how to say "what are your doing here." They were very hostile. Seriously even Drake—who flipped the internet upside down with the release of his new mixtape If You're Reading This It's Too Late last night (Feb. 12)—had to watch from behind the barricades (see below).

One thing that was hilarious was this gigantic "BECK!" sign that was put up in the windows of an office building that overlooked the concert. Did 'Ye see it? Who knows, it's pretty funny though. (When Beck was announced as the winner for Album Of The Year for his record Morning Phase, West darted up the stairs to the podium–where he appeared to smile, think better of it, and retreat to his seat. While the Yeezus rapper gave an interview after the ceremony that cast the act in a different light). See the sign below.

The show itself, although at times it felt unorganized, it was enjoyable. The begiining of the show was shaky. Travi$ Scott opened and performed hits like "Mamacita" and " Sky Fall." In front of a red background Kanye started to perform "Black Skinhead" until a fan ran on stage. The Yeezus MC was visibly freaked out and retreated. Pusha T joined 'Ye and they performed the remix to Chief Keef's "Don't Like" until Big Sean came out. Kanye West then performed "Cold" and transitioned to "Mercy." Sean, Push, Yeezy and 2 Chainz took the stage giving probably the highlight of the night. After 'Ye pause the music and said "I want to hear one of my favorite songs that's out right now." Out came Fetty Wap who performed his hit single "Trap Queen." It's a huge look for the Patterson, N.J. native.

After, there was a mini Big Sean session. He started off with "IDFWU" and did "Blessings" with Kanye. He also almost fell when they were performed the song.  After The Chitown spitta performed "New Slaves" with all of G.O.O.D. Music on the stage plus Waka Flocka Flame. He performed "Blood on the leaves." To close out the show, Kanye West performed "Only One." It's a fitting way to end the show. The West family was together all day, from the official Yeezy Boost release till the concert, watching Kanye perform backstage. You kind of wanted 'Ye to perform the new song that he previewed but overall it was a night to remember.
