Danny Brown may not share French Montana's affinity for jungle cats, but he has a strong kinship with the more domestic felines. Long known for his tweets about his cat, Siren, the Detroit rapper was on a recent episode of MTV's Ridiculousness, Brown expressed his everlasting love for the animals, even commenting on a series of video clips that had been edited together into a compilation called "Cat Bros." (There was, however, one mouser advocate who Brown couldn't co-sign: the guy who was cleaning his cat with his own tongue was dismissed by the Old rapper as doing "real White boy stuff.")

Brown has been getting his multimedia on as of late, contributing an original theme song to Fresh Off The Boat, the new ABC sitcom based on the memoirs of restaurateur Eddie Huang. He has also been working on a children's book aimed at establishing a safe space for young girls as they learn about issues of body image.

His last record, 2013's Old, was a remarkable deconstruction of the very lifestyle that has been so lucrative for him. The B-side plays as an EP to be shopped around to promoters and festival bookers; the A-side's more somber, contemplative tracks color the party that comes later.
