For those without a horse in the race, one of the main reasons to tune into the Super Bowl on Sunday is to witness the spectacle that is the halftime show. According to reports, viewers will get a chance to see Missy Elliott perform alongside pop superstar Katy Perry during this year's massive event. The report has not been confirmed by the NFL and the source of the news told the AP about the performance on condition of anonymity.

Missy Elliott and Katy Perry collaborated on the remix to 2011's "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)" and during a press conference earlier this week, Perry hinted that she would have a major surprise guest join her on stage. "When you hear the first ring of the chord, I think jaws will drop and faces will melt," said Perry.

Rock star Lenny Kravitz has already been announced as a special guest performer.

As one of the biggest (and most beautiful) music stars in the world, Perry has shown a lot of love to the hip-hop world during her career. One of her most successful songs, "Dark Horse," features Juicy J; she may or may not have dated Riff Raff; and she has affection for Lil B. Perry asking Missy to perform on one of the biggest stages in the world is a major look for Elliott and hip-hop.
