Lupe Fiasco And GrandeMarshall Clash On Twitter
Lupe Fiasco just can't stay out of Twitter beef. After settling his differences with Freddie Gibbs, the Chicago rapper is now embroiled in a feud with GrandeMarshall, a rapper from Philadelphia. Marshall alleges that Lupe's just-released single, "Adoration Of The Magi," shares the same beat as the Philly rapper's 2012 song "Ellie Fox." Both tracks are credited to DJ Dahi, and sound like the same instrumental with minor alterations.
GrandeMarshall, naturally, tweeted about it; Lupe responded, angrily, but ready to clear up any disputes as to the track's rightful owner. That's when the conversation took a left turn, with Marshall taking swipes with pictures of frying bologna
For his part, DJ Dahi simply tweeted "If you bought it, its yours. If you didn't its still belongs to me....," adding "No funny Shit, I keep it 100."
This isn't the first time Lupe has caused controversy with the instrumental from his single. In 2012, his song "Around My Way (Freedom Ain't Free)" made waves for its use of Pete Rock's "T.R.O.Y." instrumental. The legendary producer was none too pleased.
