Joan Rivers really knew how to do a goddamn book dedication. MISS U DOG.

Joan Rivers was an icon, both for her mastering the finer points of comedic writing and performance and for her role as a trailblazer for women in Hollywood, especially in writers' rooms. When the comedian passed away this September, fans and industry players came together to mourn and to celebrate her life—but it seems that no one checked the fine print. In true Rivers fashion, one of her final acts in the public eye was a shot at a major celebrity.

Rivers' 12th and final book, Diary Of A Mad Diva, was published in July. Though not widely reported at the time, the first couple of pages took the internet by storm over the past two days. Diva begins with an epigraph: "Sometimes people write novels and they be so wordy and self-absorbed...I am a proud non-reader of books." Of course, that's a Kanye West quote from 2009; naturally, Rivers couldn't help herself. The next page was the book's dedication: "To Kanye West, because he'll never fuckin' read it."
