Iggy Azalea is kicking off the new year in a big way. Last night (Jan. 7), the People's Choice Awards aired their 40th annual award ceremony where today's hottest musicians and actors are celebrated and voted on by fans. The 2015 People's Choice Awards named Iggy Azalea their Favorite Hip-Hop Artist, beating out hip-hop heavyweights Jay Z, Nicki Minaj, Drake, and even her mentor T.I..

Despite the constant backlash Iggy's been receiving since starting her career, accolades for the artist from down under continue to pile up. Last year, Iggy Azalea won two American Music Awards (AMAs) for Best Rap Artist and Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Album. Receiving her People's Choice Award wasn't the only reason Iggy hit the stage last night. Iggy performed her smash hit single "Beg For It" alongside Danish singer MØ in a colorfully striking stage setting.

Check out the performance and pictures from the show below:

No surprises for guessing the people's favorite hip-hop artist. #PeoplesChoice
