The thing about the rumors is that you never know which is true. Well, Emmis Communications just killed the rumor that Jay Z was about to buy Hot 97. Today, Hip-Hop Wired got confirmation from Emmis press rep Kate Snedeker that the story is false. Which is amazing news for Funk Flex because things would of got really awkward.

Hot 97's Funkmaster Flex is on a full scale rampage, dissing Hov for a number of reasons, including his rap game, his Life + Times website, and for trying to text. “You are a corporate commercial rapper that drops a little catch phrase every three months,” said Flex on the radio. Even going as far as to say Hot 97 doesn't care for or need Hov.  If you haven't, you should check out comedian Hannibal Buress parody of Flex's rants because it's hilarious.

The rumor originated from MediaTakeout. Well alright.
