Though nearly a year and a half has passed since its release, Danny Brown's stunning 2013 record, Old, is still rattling around trunks and frat houses. But the Detroit rapper is already hard at work on the sequel. "I recently just bought a house," Brown said while speaking to Australian radio during a recent tour stop. "I got a studio in my house now so I'll just wake up, stretch, record whenever I want." He also revealed that he spent a week working with The Alchemist in Los Angeles, and that material from those sessions should make the new LP.

But that's not the only creative project Brown has underway. The XXX rapper says that he's also grinding away on a children's book, one that has apparently taken him "forever" to complete. "It's really about self-esteem in black girls," explains Brown. "You know how black women do so much--process their hair, change their eye color. It's really about a little girl who does all these things to herself and changes herself and she realizes she's just better off the way she is."

The former XXL Freshman says that the book, dedicated to his 13-year-old daughter, was inspired by the famous children's author Dr. Seuss. "I think I am Dr. Seuss!" Brown said, adding that he sees himself as the hip-hop manifestation of The Grinch and other renowned (and reviled) characters.
