Pianists Chilly Gonzales Sees The Brilliance Of iLoveMakonnen And Drake’s “Tuesday (Remix)”

iLoveMakonnen and Drake's "Tuesday (Remix)" has received major radio play since it dropped and is clearly one of the biggest records of the year, garnering a Grammy nomination. As a part of the Pop Music Masterclass for 1Live Radio in Germany, musical genius Chilly Gonzales sits down to explain what makes the track such a hit. Gonzales takes viewers through the four chords that make up the track. He describes them as endless for making listeners feel the song could go on forever. It's actually pretty cool to hear "Tuesday" dissected and explained.

"Music is just different when there's a sound filling up the air," said Chilly. "On Drake's album cover, you see a bunch of clouds, and that's kind of how his music sounds—a lot of synthesizers holding, creating an atmosphere that's kind of cloudy and blurry at the same time, used to great effect on 'Tuesday,'" said Chilly before closing out with the song on a church organ.
