It's been 15 years since the infamous New York City nightclub shooting involving Diddy (then Puffy) and protégé Shyne. While some see it as another wild moment in hip-hop history, the events of that night have had a much larger effect on others. Yesterday, UpNorthTrips simply acknowledged the incident via an Instagram post of a news article which caught the attention of a woman who was injured by gunfire on that fateful night. The victim, Natania Reuben, says she was shot in the face during the shooting and clearly, and rightfully, still has hard feelings about the whole event saying the victims have been overshadowed by the celebrity of the whole situation.

As the story goes, Diddy and then girlfriend Jennifer Lopez were leaving Club New York when an altercation started with Matthew "Scar" Allen. Shots rang out, and Diddy and J. Lo were later arrested fleeing the scene with a gun in their vehicle. Rapper Shyne was also arrested and charged with the shooting, while Diddy was eventually exonerated. Shyne ended up serving a 10-year prison sentence for two counts of assault, reckless endangerment and gun possession, which he finished in 2009. A year prior to his release, Reuben brought on a $130 million lawsuit against Shyne and Diddy. She reportedly received a $1.8 million settlement from the Bad Boy CEO in 2011.

Check out the dialog between Reuben and some Instagram members about the traumatizing night, below.
