On the fourth track on his new mixtape, Law 3: Now Or Never, DC's Shy Glizzy raps glowingly about the superstars, the shooters, the "ten thousand bitches" he expects at his memorial service. They'll be driving exotic cars, maybe even robbing you--because this is Shy Glizzy's world, where nothing ordinary happens.
As a companion piece to this year's Young Jefe, DJ Drama-hosted Law 3 is lean and purposeful; Glizzy uses the tape's quick pacing to give it stakes. By the midpoint—the urgent "What To Do"—there have been threats and promises, celebrations and, yes, funerals. The forward motion is unstoppable. With production that borrows from Mustard's school of ratchet, Chicago drill, and the bizarre world of 2014 Atlanta, there are enough hits to fill festival sets and Porsche gas tanks for the foreseeable future.
