Mister Cee Says Biggie Would Be Proud Of Him
Coming up in the game as a DJ for Big Daddy Kane, Cee was an associate executive producer on the Notorious B.I.G.'s debut album, Ready To Die, securing himself as a staple in hip-hop and a mentor for upcoming DJs. Even though early in his career the Brooklyn native enjoyed plenty of success, towards the end of his career at Hot 97 things were not so sweet. Between 2011 and 2013, Mister Cee was arrested several times for solicitation of male prostitutes. The matter became even bigger in the fall of 2013, when a videotape surfaced of Cee again engaging with a prostitute, this time causing him to serve up a short-lived resignation from his duties at the station and painfully going on-air to address the situation with his boss Ebro.
Presently, Cee is drama free and maintains that his resignation this time is for real. A year later and after a year of therapy, the vet is in a new place and is ready to take on new challenges. XXL caught up with Cee after he broke the internet with news of yet another resignation. Speaking on the past year of healing, Angie Martinez's departure from Hot 97 and how Biggie would be supportive of him if he was alive, Mister Cee bares all. —Miranda Johnson
