UPDATE: A reliable source close to the situation has told XXL that the police had absolutely no hard evidence that Jeezy had any role whatsoever in either the shooting or any other illegal activity. The source says that the guns seized by police at the time of arrest had been inspected, cleared, and returned by police to Jeezy's security director two days before because he lawfully owned them.

Without either a questionable warrant of no warrant at all, police seized clothing, suitcases, and jewelry from everyone on the tour bus. The police used the smell of weed at the venue as a reason to board the bus and detain everybody.

The Northern California (Mountain View) police then forced the Orange County DA to find a reason to keep Jeezy and company in custody so they could interrogate them. The DA  set the bail at an insane $1 million and since Jeezy was unwilling to bail himself out and leave his employees behind, he spent four days in jail. The Atlanta rapper was forced to cancel his show at the last minute because of this.

Jeezy and 5 other individuals were arrested and initially thought to be connected to the shooting death of Eric Johnson backstage at the Mountain View, Calif.  “Under The Influence Of Music” tour stop on Aug. 24. XXL has learned that all charges have been dropped.

Here's an Official Statement from Jeezy:

“I pray this had nothing to do with race but it definitely had nothing to do with evidence. Words cannot express how vindicated I feel with these charges being dismissed today. While my team and I always knew that the allegations and charges were based on zero facts, the rush to judgment by both the media and the police has been extremely disappointing. I'm relieved that the truth has ultimately prevailed and I would like to thank those who have always stood by me including my family and fans.”

Jeezy's legal counsel Blair Berk also chimed in saying, "Mr. Jenkins (Jeezy) should not have been arrested and this case should not have been prosecuted. We are pleased it has been dismissed, although frustrated that it took the police and prosecutors months to do the right thing."
