This past Saturday, Dec. 13, the Resorts World Casino New York City held a hip-hop concert that took many down memory lane with the performances of Fat Joe and Ja Rule. Their performances showcased why both MC's still have what it takes to put on a good show and still drop quality music.

Queens native Ja Rule opened up the show that started a little after 9 p.m. The man responsible for some of the biggest hits in the early 2000s was accompanied by his wife and the MTV camera crew. MTV was in the building filming Ja Rule's preparation and performance for his upcoming reality show, Follow The Rules. Ja kicked off his performance with his Jennifer Lopez assisted track "I'm Real" remix. The Queens native followed up with his chart-topping hits "Between Me And You," "Always On Time," "Livin It Up" and more. The crowd was definitely into Ja's performance as they sang along word-by-word to each one of his hits. Ja also took time from his performance to address the current injustices that are going on within the United States. Rule closed out his set by bringing it back home with the performance of the street record "New York."

A little after 10:30 p.m., Fat Joe got on stage to perform his set for the Resorts World Casino crowd. Joe thanked Irv Gotti and Ja Rule for the help throughout his career and mentioned that the Murder Inc. associates helped him with one of his biggest hits of all time "What's Luv." Joe followed that up with the biggest hit of his career thus far, "Lean Back," which had the crowd leaning back as they watched Joey Crack rock out on stage. Fat Joe also performed some of his biggest DJ Khaled assisted tracks and even did a few of his newer tracks like "Stressin" and the Chris Brown assisted "Another Round" before closing out the show.
