Update (Dec. 17, 3:36 p.m.): It appears as if things are about to get worse for Bobby Shmurda. As per Wondering Sound‘s report, Kati Cornell, director of public information for New York’s special narcotics prosecutor, confirmed the arrest of Shmurda and a number of his associates early hours of morning. Though she wouldn’t disclose the exact charges, Cornell did say that the office had a sealed indictment against a number of individuals.

Cornell clarified that the investigation stretched beyond drugs; she said that it took into account “a number of violent incidents as well as narcotics trafficking.”  According to Cornell, the NYPD plans to hold a press conference tomorrow afternoon to discuss the case.

The charges against Shmurda will not be revealed until tomorrow. The indictment is scheduled to be unsealed early tomorrow, Dec. 18. Shmurda, whose real name is Ackquille Pollard, was arrested with outside of Quad Recording Studios. More than a dozen was booked. The arrests were apart of a long-term investigation by the agency and the New York Police Department’s newly created Brooklyn South Violence Reduction Task Force.

Original story: Bobby Shmurda and members of his GS9 clique were reportedly arrested earlier today (Dec. 17) at Quad Studios in New York City after numerous weapons were found and seized from the location, according to a Karen Civil source. The Brooklyn native, born Ackquille Pollard, was taken into custody along with Epic Records executive Sha Money XL—who signed the “Hot N***a” rapper to the label back in July.

This wouldn’t be Shmurda’s first run in with the law. Back in June, Bobby Shmurda was arrested in Brooklyn for gun possession. Little information has been disclosed about the incident. Bobby Shmurda had one hell of a year with hit singles and an infectious dance that had every celebrity and their mother attempting to get their “Shmoney” on.

XXL has reached out to Epic Records but they have no comment at this time. A search for records of his arrest is also unavailable at the moment, but we will keep you posted as the story develops.
