Azealia Banks Calls T.I. A “Shoe Shining Coon,” Rips Iggy Azalea

Hate it or love it, Azealia Banks always speaks her mind. Whether she’s verbally obliterating rappers on Twitter, or providing us with scathing soundbites, rarely does she ever hold back. While she spent most of the year pitting herself against T.I., and more notably, Iggy Azalea, Azealia did manage to drop her album Broke With Expensive Taste. Still, despite her musical efforts, Banks is increasingly being known more for brewing controversy. Today, she lived up to her name once again and chose T.I. and Iggy Azalea as her artists our choice during her interview with Ebro and the gang of HOT97.

Banks spoke candidly about the Grammys and didn’t bite her tongue regarding Macklemore’s shocking win over Kendrick Lamar and Drake.

“That Macklemore album wasn’t better than Drake’s record,” Banks told HOT97. “That Iggy Azalea shit is not better than any black girl that’s rappin’ today. The Grammys are supposed to be accolades of artist excellence. Iggy Azzlea is not excellent.”

Then, she proceeded to side with Nicki Minaj and explain why she believes that the The Pinkprint rapper is undervalued in the hip-hop community. In addition, she said how pitting Nicki against Iggy is “cultural smudging.”

“All it says to white kids is like ‘oh yeah, you’re great, you’re amazing, you can do whatever you put your mind to,’ she said about her problems with the Grammys. “And it says to black kids, you don’t have shit, you don’t own shit, not even the shit you created for yourself. And, it makes me upset.”

Banks continued her verbal assault, as she then viciously attacked T.I. for choosing to roll with Iggy.

“Here you got fucking coon head ass T.I. – like T.I., you fucking out here trying to promote this fucking white bitch and then got your wife on VH1 and that bitch can’t fucking read.  You understand? You got your priorities fucked up. That’s really how I fucking feel about you. You a fucking shoeshining coon. How dare you?”

As you already know, T.I. and Banks have bad blood against one another, and it appears Azealia may have reopened those wounds. Check out the interview above.
