Trina On French Montana: “No One Besides New York Even Paid Him Attention Until Me”
Miami's very own Trina stopped by Power 105.1's The Breakfast Club to chop it up with Charlamagne Tha God, Angela Yee and DJ Envy about her estranged relationship with rapper French Montana. Earlier this week, French Montana stopped by the Wendy Williams Show and blatantly revealed he was never in a real relationship with the Miami rapper. He claims the two were just having fun while he was dealing with the split from his ex-wife. Trina remembers the situation a little differently.
"I was beyond supportive. I was the one who told you to step up to the plate and make the right choice. I was your friend, I was just in your life. Now when you say friend, friend not like I'm the girl you met at the club or the girl you took home and we was smashing. Not that kind of friend. The friend that when you came to Miami you never slept in a hotel, because you stayed at my house every single time. The friend that still has the keys to your house today. That kind of friend. The friend that sends and imports stuff, furniture, all kind of stuff from Miami to New York...I did that. That kind of friend. So let's be clear on the friend thing since you want to be so messy about it, because we were friends."
Trina went on to say that no one knew who French was, besides New York, before she started dealing with him. While her answers were coming from a good place, French Montana might not hear/feel the same innocence in her responses.
