Russell Simmons Says “Being A Music Star Is A Lot More Than Selling Records”

When speaking to Grammy U, Russell Simmons dropped a lot knowledge on the music industry, including on what it takes to be a star in the industry. "Being a music star is a lot more than selling records. If selling records was what the music business about, they would all move on to something else. [Music stars] not counting their royalties as their income. They're counting all of the things they influence, all the multi-billion dollar businesses they're branding and building and affecting."
