Def Jam Recordings' Senior Director of Marketing & Development, Rob Caiaffa, has just been promoted to Vice President of Marketing. Earlier today Chris Atlas, Def Jam's Executive Vice President of Marketing, announced Caiaffa will now be responsible for the creation, development, and execution of marketing strategies on behalf of a select roster of Def Jam artists.

“Rob is a dynamic marketing executive in charge of one of the most productive and successful artist portfolios in the history of Def Jam,” said Atlas. “Working closely with him in the Marketing Department over the past three years assures me that this is a worthy advancement for Rob, and an important addition to the Def Jam management team.”

In the year 2000, Caiaffa began his journey in the music world at Interscope Records as Marketing Coordinator and worked his way up. Previously at Def Jam he held was Senior Director of Marketing & Development since 2011. Caiaffa's client rap sheet doesn't go unnoticed. He's overseen initiatives for artists such as Jeezy, Ludacris, 2 Chainz, YG, August Alsina, Big K.R.I.T., Lil Durk, Jadakiss, and Big Sean.

“Def Jam continues to grow from strength to strength as the most-desired destination for today’s young urban and hip-hop artists,” said Caiaffa. “I am proud to work alongside and learn from Steve Bartels, Chris Atlas and the great Def Jam staff.  It is doubly exciting for me to receive this promotion in Def Jam’s landmark 30th anniversary year.”
