The beef between New York Knicks guard Iman Shumpert and Power 105.1's Charlamagne Tha God is just getting started. After Shumpert released a diss song and statement aimed at Charlamagne and DJ Envy, TMZ Sports caught up with the radio host and media personality for a retort.

"I think Iman Shumpert needs to work on his offense and defense and not be so defensive and take offense when I criticize his rap skills," said Charlamagne. "His girlfriend Teyana Taylor , who is a good friend of mine, I told her a few days ago I thought he was a wack rapper so he decided to record a diss record."

Shumpert argued that the popular hosts of "The Breakfast Club" hurt Shumpert's brand by downplaying his music, to which Charlamagne responded: "Nobody knows Iman Shumpert as a rapper, you are an NBA player so I don't understand how me saying you're a wack rapper is detrimental to your brand as an NBA player. That makes no logical sense whatsoever."

Charlamagne ended the interview with advice for Shump: "If he wants to record wack rap songs in the offseason, fine. But during the season, focus on basketball."
