Funkmaster Flex is an integral part of the hip-hop culture. By spending over two decades in the hip-hop world, it's safe to say that he's deeply entrenched in the game. So it's only right he plays a big role in this new project revolving The Notorious B.I.G. According to HotNewHipHop, Flex is teaming up with journalist Karen Hunter and publisher Simon Schuster to write untold stories about the great late rapper.

A few excerpts from the book from Flex will talk about how "Who Shot Ya", a biggie record, was originally meant for Mary J Blige, in addition to being the reason for how Biggie met Nas.

"The song 'Who Shot Ya' was originally an intro for Mary J. Blige’s album. Uptown/MCA said it was too hard. The song in its original form had a verse from Big, Keith Murray and LL Cool J, though LL never did his verse. The song still exists!"

He also mentioned how he introduced B.I.G. to Nas.

"I introduced Big to Nas on my block in Brooklyn. Nas came by to visit my sister, and I went and brought Big to the house. Nas had Illmatic out at the time… "
