In late September, rumors began circulating around Apple shutting down Beats Music—the subscription based music streaming service made available for customers online and as an app—in order to make some "changes." Today, The Wall Street Journal reports Apple will be relaunching Beats through iTunes next year instead of pulling the plug on the service completely. Due to a plummet in digital music downloading sales, Apple is looking for ways to revamp and improve.

After striking a lucrative $3.2 billion deal with Apple, Beats Electronics and Beats Music looked even more promising than when they first hit the market. According to people familiar with the matter, things aren't always what they seem. The Journal is also reporting that sales in the iTunes Store has fallen between 13-14 percent worldwide in 2014. Which is a huge difference from last year when sales only suffered a 2.1% decrease, , according to IFPI

As stated in The Wall Street Journal report, "The plummeting download numbers help illustrate why Apple bought the $10-a-month subscription streaming service Beats Music earlier this year, as part of its $3 billion acquisition that included headphone maker Beats Electronics. Apple is rebuilding Beats Music and plans to relaunch it next year as part of iTunes, according to a person familiar with the matter."

Details on how Apple's relaunch campaign for Beats Music will be revealed when more information is disclosed.
