Kendrick Lamar Has Love For J. Cole And Drake

Many people were frantically waiting for Kendrick Lamar's first single "i" after he teased us on numerous occasions. Today (Sept 23), people were able to get a glimpse into perhaps Kendrick's next album with the new track. After releasing the song, Kendrick made his way over to Power 106 to talk with Big Boy. During his interview, he touched on the one year anniversary of "Control" and his respect for J.Cole & Drake.

"I respect their music for sure. I respect them as individuals and as creators," said K. Dot.

"I think what the media tried to do is insane because they take these black - you know - brothers  and really try to clash it and make [us] bumps heads. That's not right.That's how I look at it. I think it's not right. I think that's why it's great to really show people how we support one another because hip-hop was something that wasn't supposed to be here for this long. I'm sure you know Big [Boy]. And the more we do that, the more they'll try to tear it down."

If you remember, Drake paid homage to Kendrick at OVO Fest by dubbing the Compton rapper as "legendary." Glad to see there's no love lost.

No word on a release date for Kendrick. But, best believe, he'll be dropping sooner than later.
