It's been five long years since Wyclef Jean has put out a studio album, but the Haitian artist/philanthropist refused to remain dormant during those years. With recent talk of assisting 2014 XXL Freshman Chance The Rapper with some new music and calling on Troy Ave for a special anti-violence project, Wyclef always stayed close to hip-hop. In a recent interview with Billboard, Wyclef discusses how he was able to mentally prepare for his forthcoming album.

"I was 'Gone in November' of 2013, in search of my next musical chapter," Says Wyclef. "So, with my acoustic guitar, I headed to Stockholm where once again I found my voice."

For Wyclef's  seventh studio album, Clerification he was looking for a change of scenery, so he headed to a studio based in Stockholm where he was able to link up with Ash Pournari, manager of Avicii and founder of At Night Management. Wyclef collaborated with the popular house music DJ to create the first single of the album, "Divine Sorrow."

Clerification is expected to hit stores Spring 2015.
