During a talk with DJ Whoo Kid before his recent private performance at Webster Hall, Wiz Khalifa found out about Vanilla Ice's less than supportive stance on "Shell Shocked", a song he createed with Ty Dolla $ign and Juicy J for the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle movie.

The originator of "Ninja Rap" said in a recent interview with GQ, "“With respect to all of the artists, the song doesn’t really do it for me. It feels a little artificial. What I mean by that is that it sounds like a bunch of executives in the corporate world put it together. It really does not fit the theme of the Ninja Turtles legend. I think you have to understand, and be a true Ninja, to possess the Magic to really pull off the secret sound.”

Wiz seemed unfazed by the comments. "I respect his opinion. I don't have beef with Vanilla Ice. He just said he doesn't like the song. Which is cool because I greew up listening to 'Ninja Rap' and there was probably a lot of people who thought that was corny at that time too. But he stuck with it. And that's part of my childhood."

Vanilla became part of the Ninja Turtle franchise with his “Ninja Rap“ that was recorded for the 1991 film Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze.

Wiz Khalifa is currently back on the road with the Under The Influence Of Music Tour alongside Jeezy, Mack Wilds, Ty Dolla $ign and DJ Drama. The tour will be running through September.
