After nearly two years on storied rap label, Def Jam, polarizing Atlanta MC Trinidad Jame$ has reportedly been dropped from the imprint. Taking to his Twitter account early this morning, he posted, "I should tell yall. I got dropped by the Label." The Gold Gang rapper also revealed the album he planned to release on the label will now be free and warned producers and MCs who contributed to the project not to expect any compensation. "My album is now free. If u hear ur beat or verse on it. I hope u want dap cuz i got no money," he typed.

Many will say they saw this move coming as the rapper has yet to make any significant impact since he signed a reported multi-million dollar contract with the label in 2012 off the strength of his hit single "All Gold Everything." Jame$ dropped the mixtape 10 Piece Mild last August but made more noise with his ill-taken statements about New York hip-hop and the fall out that followed with Brooklyn MC, Maino. With no more hits to date, in the end, even a song dedicated to the label couldn't help.
