For years basketball has been synonymous with hip-hop as many MCs attempted to be ballers and vice versa. Most recently the mix of hip-hop and basketball came together when a few NBA came up with the idea to create a collaborative album titled Full Court Press Vol. 1.

The 10-song collective is the product of Full Court Press Records, brings together some of the NBA’s top athletes with some of raps most seasoned artists. The album’s first single “I’m A Champion,” features Dallas Mavericks forward Shawn Marion rhyming alongside T-Pain, Dorrough, and Young Cash.

A&R executive and project creator Shannon “Slam” Ridley said, “With over a decade of successes at Bad Boy Records, I understand the power of hip-hop on American culture. I thought it would be really cool if I could enjoy listening to Hip-Hop with my children the way we enjoy an NBA game!”

Other hoopers involved in the album include Iman Shumpert, Glen “Big Baby” Davis, Stephen Jackson, Carlos Boozer, and Juwan Howard, while Future, Ma$e, Game, Bun B and Twista are among some of the rappers featured on the album.
