DJ Mustard Sells Out Webster Hall In NYC
Undeniably one of the most popular producers of the last two years, DJ Mustard has made a household name of himself. Taking over the radio stations and clubs, Mustard’s produced songs can be heard everywhere. While some might find his beats to be indistinguishable, it’s hard to hate on the hits he produces. Once his signature “Mustard on the beat, ho” drops and the strip club styled claps hit, it’s hard to deny the desire to dance.
This is exactly why the L.A. native is able to pack out Webster Hall for a second time in a row this year. Last night (August 1) The Roc Nation signee proved he is the definition of a club pleaser. Strictly performing a DJ set with no special guests to wow the crowd, it’s amazing to see the attendees get pumped up to songs such as “Down On Me” featuring Ty Dolla $ign and 2 Chainz, “Move That Dope” By Future, “My Hitta” and “Who Do You Love” by YG, “I’ma Stoner” by Young Thug, and crowd favorite “m.A.A.d city” by Kendrick Lamar like if it were the artists performing it live themselves. What excites people about Mustard’s songs is the various settings his songs are played. Unwilling to be put in a box, he describes his music as “indefinable.” Mustard’s 10 Summers album is scheduled to drop August 12 and will be available the first two weeks for free exclusively through Google play.-Tennelle Swan
