It's been 30 years since Russell Simmons and Rick Rubin help construct one of the most influential record labels in the music industry today. Def Jam, which was spawned top notch artists in the form of LL Cool J, Jay Z, DMX, Rick Ross, and more, will now be holding a concert at the Barclay Center to celebrate their past, present, and future achievements.

On Oct. 16, fans will be delighted to see some of the label's biggest stars—past and present—take centerstage at the Barclay Center to perform. Acts including the likes of  Rick Ross, 2 Chainz, DMX, Fabolous, Foxy Brown, Jhené Aiko, Onyx, Method Man, Redman, Ashanti, Ja Rule, Warren G, EPMD, and Jeremih will all be in attendance. In a press release, Def Jam CEO, Steve Bartels, expressed his joy in regards to the label's longevity.

"It’s very exciting to be able to be part of such a special announcement---Def Jam Recordings 30th Anniversary Concert at the iconic Barclay Center--- which solidifies and continues forward the enduring mark the brand has made on pop culture," said Steve Bartels, CEO of Def Jam Recordings. "Including the very artists that have pioneered the beginnings of the storied label, to showcasing the new dynamic and current superstars in the making, this concert is the can’t miss event of the year."
In addition to celebrating the release, the label will drop two versions of a limited boxset. It will include a two volume compilation of Def Jam Recordings Greatest Hits, as well as Selections From The Roots of Def Jam, curated by Rick Rubin, himself.
