Timbaland says a Missy Elliott album is on the way. The producer told RollingStone that his longtime friend and songwriting partner has a new album in the works.

"It's on her. She got the first single, it's just a matter of when she wants to do it. We got the hollow-tip bullet in the gun. We have the game-changer right there," he says.

It’s been nearly a decade since Missy released her last solo album, The Cookbook. After a series of health issues and a surprise performance with Pharrell Williams at the BET Awards it seems like she’s ready to get back to her music.

When asked about what fans could expect from Missy's new album Timbo explains, “it’s something you ain't never heard Missy do. It sounds today, but the future.”

Despite not dropping an LP since 2005, Missy has periodically released new music. In 2012 she dropped two Timbaland produced tracks “9th Inning” and “Triple Threat,” while making a few guest appearances on songs by Fantasia and Faith Evans.

In addition to working with Missy, Timbo is also working on his new solo album Opera Noir, which he claims to be a classic like Prince’s Purple Rain.
