It looks like fans will have to wait until next week for Remy Ma to be released from prison.
An official at the Department of Corrections and Community Supervision informed XXL that Remy Ma was involved in an incident on July 21 that will delay her release, which was previously scheduled to happen today. The disciplinary problem was a phone violation involving a call to a third party. The Bronx native will have to wait until early next week at least to be released after the prison’s review is complete.
July 21 happens to be the same day Remy Ma called into Power 105.1 to do an interview with Angie Martinez. It’s unclear if the two incidents are related, however, and no more information was available as of press time.
Remy is serving time in prison after she was convicted of assault, illegal weapon possession and attempted coercion in 2008 following a shooting outside a Manhattan nightclub in 2007.
XXL will update this story as more information becomes available. —Emmanuel C.M.
